You know you have officially entered adulthood when your skincare routine is more than just one step, or if it even exists at all to begin with. If you don’t know where to start, or you are currently searching for a new skincare routine, or just want to pretend to be a responsible human being, I feel like I have found the perfect match with Clinique’s 3-Step Skin Care System. The best thing about this system is that Clinique has these steps available for every skin type!
Step 1: Cleanse. Clinique’s Liquid Facial Soap( $18.50). This soap is very gentle and leaves your face feeling soft. This soap isn’t intended to be a makeup remover, but if you don’t remove your makeup before you wash your face, I find that this soap does a good job in taking my makeup off. TIP: The bottle does say to use this twice a day, but I would recommend to start by using it once a day because you’re introducing your skin to a new product and you need to allow your skin to adjust.

This soap is available in 3 skin-typed formulas. Extra-Mild for Very Dry to Dry Skin, Mild for Dry Combination Skin. Oily Skin Formula for Combination Oily or Oily Skin.(I get it in mild for dry combination skin).
Step 2: Exfoliate. Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion ($25.50). This isn’t what you think of when you think of lotion. This step is basically a toner which helps get rid of dead skin and brightens your face. The Clarifying Lotion is my favorite because it leaves my skin feeling nice and fresh. I personally like using this with a round cotton pad all over my face and neck. (Please don’t forget your neck! Because girl, there is NO point in having a flawless face with a crusty neck.) Clinique suggests to use this twice a day but I would recommend to slowly introduce this to your skin.

The Clarifying lotion is Available in 5 skin-typed formulas. Dry, Sensitive Skin: Clarifying Lotion 1.0. Very Dry Skin: Clarifying Lotion 1. Dry Combination: Clarifying Lotion 2. Combination Oily: Clarifying Lotion 3. Very Oily: Clarifying Lotion 4.
Step 3: Moisturize. Clinique has two moisturizers to choose from in this 3 Step System one of them is the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion the other is the Dramatically Different Gel. I would highly recommend the gel because the lotion feels too greasy whereas the gel is lightweight and makes your face feel so soft! OR you can use Clinique’s 72hr Moisture Surge ($12) instead. I love using this daily because it hydrates my skin and leaves it feeling velvety.

Final Thoughts: I would most definitely recommend to slowly introduce step 1 and 2 slowly to your face and not use them twice a day everyday like the bottles says ( I learned from experience). Your face needs to get use to new products and switching over to a new routine may shock your face and cause irritation.
